sighing over daydreams
Jun. 23rd, 2011 01:56 amThe problem with so much as looking at photos of ball-jointed dolls is that one lusts after them. Never mind the fact that I am probably not the sort to spend ages dressing them or looking at them (though I suppose I could make jewellery for them - is there a market for seed bead bondage gear for BJDs?) and so on and so forth. They're just so darned pretty.
(But then I remind myself that buying a good one would probably cost about as much, if not more, as an iPad, which would be more useful anyhow, and I've already decided that I'm not affording one of those for the moment at least, so down, girl. Smack nose. Behave. Etc.)
Otherwise: work is busy, the sky is grey, the weather is close, and I am apparently running a temperature, though the weather is dubious enough that I was having to check with a coworker whether it was the general heat or just me. But I'm functional enough for work, so . . . well, roll on the weekend.
Must decide what I'm doing about Yaoi-con.
Currently prowling the Tomb-colonies in Venderbight in Echo Bazaar in search of clues to my Nemesis. It's tremendously atmospheric. Excellent writing.

What is the Correspondence?
They say it's the letters that Helen wrote to Menelaus in the years of her imprisonment. They say it's the letters Raffles wrote about the Cat that never were published. They say it's the last accounts of the last days of the Third City, strung in beads on cord in a code no-one living understands...
