life without advertisments
May. 13th, 2012 02:54 amWeather was pleasantly bright today, and I was able to keep my radiator off for most of the day. (It seems ridiculous to be saying that in May, but it has not been a May notable for good weather so far.)
Was watching a couple of episodes of a series on DVD, and suddenly realised the difference between doing that and normal television. No blasted advertisement breaks. I swear that television channels could make themselves incredibly popular just by not having any ad breaks every 20 minutes or so. (Three cheers for the BBC, which still keeps to their no-ad policy. Long may it last.)
---
Cats
With no care for duty or people
Or strange looks or the opinion of other cats,
One striped and the other white
Go on the edge of the roof
Or climb to the ridge of it.
Driven by the need of love
Which is stronger than death.
One day the wind of Autumn shall come
And they will not know each other.
My soul, I envy the love of cats.
