Aaaand it's back to work tomorrow. I will prepare myself to hear the complaints of my coworkers and add to them. Our united cries (or should that be whimpers?) of wrath shall echo from the ceiling and fill our building with the sounds of post-holiday lamentation.
And then we'll have some more coffee, or tea, and get on with work.
If we're really lucky, it might even rain, and then we can all exchange comments along the lines of, "At least we had nice weather yesterday and it wasn't raining like this then." The team that whines together binds together. Or something.

Reporting the whole situation - once she got back to the Library - was probably going to be awkward. Hopefully actually resolving the situation first by retrieving Evariste’s daughter would make the final report easier. It might allow Irene to edit out some of the more dubious intermediary steps between problem discovered and problem solved. Just so long as it finished with problem solved. That was the important part.
