in which I amuse my fellow travellers
Oct. 9th, 2016 02:14 amHad an excellent time at the Knitting and Stitching Show. Got some Colinette yarn (they're closing down, alas), some Liberty fabric, some other fabrics, some spare bobbins and needles for my machine, and so on and so forth...
But really, one of the nicest things about the K&S Show is the same thing that you get at any convention - being surrounded by other people who share your interests and who get it. And who make helpful comments like, "yes, of course you should have bought it, what else would anyone do?" Always good to hear.
On the way back I was in the "quiet zone" carriage on the train, and I'd parked my bag full of purchases on the luggage rack above the seats. I was just dozing off nicely when an imperfectly-balanced small bag of fabric slipped out of it and landed on me.
My squawk got the entire carriage's attention.
Fortunately they were all willing to chuckle and be amused when I explained what had happened and apologised. Couldn't get back to sleep for the rest of the trip, though.
