Blast and dammit. Temporary filling came out. Hello dentist next week, yet again. At least he filed the edges of the old filling last time, so it's not as razor-edged as it was (or as it felt) before.
Otherwise, quite a good day. Failed to do scheduled writing chunk in evening, due to being distracted by far too much poking around with online fanfic. Gah. Bother. Oh well, have a spare day or two.
Have half an idea for a story, but it needs working on.
Picked up latest Storm Riders this afternoon. It seems I can actually have some feelings for Cloud, however annoying and otokorashii he may be, given I felt a little pang of regret on seeing him vanish over the edge of a cliff while poisoned. (What am I saying? One of the protagonists falling over the edge of a cliff and no body being found? He'll be back.)
What I suspected last week has turned out to be true. Since Wizkids failed to get sufficient stocks for their new Pirates of the Spanish Main game manufactured, and are running short in America, they've cancelled all the planned shipments to Europe, and we won't be getting any till some time in September. I'm not particularly annoyed, as I hadn't really planned to get any -- well, maybe one pack, just to see what they were like -- and certainly hadn't planned to play with them, but I regret the attitude towards the European market.

Two Tanka
From outside my house,
only the faint distant sound
of gentle breezes
wandering through bamboo leaves
in the long evening silence.
Late evening finally
comes: I unlatch the door
and quietly
await the one
who greets me in my dreams.

Date: 2004-08-15 08:42 am (UTC)And re: Wizkids, I'm kind of tempted to just not bother with it, in a futile protest. It was one of the things I'd been wanting to look at if I went to Gencon, which I'm still not sure about since Rob is quite keen.

Date: 2004-08-15 06:20 pm (UTC)Much more tempting to collect Stikfas instead. :) (Yes, I now have three on my desk at work, and one at home . . .)
I'd be more tempted by GenCon if it wasn't a hassle to get to and if it wasn't so away from the rest of town (any town). I may go, but it'll probably be a day trip on the Saturday or Sunday if I do.
