According to the weather forecast on the news, this summer looks like being even hotter than last summer.

I am unenthusiastic about this.

given my present condition i'm in two minds about this! on the plus side i am heading out to lister park with sister #2 and her kids for a little picnic after work.

Well, it's certainly lovely weather for a picnic at the moment!

They said that about last summer. They don't actually specify *where* it will be hot. So in fact for most of it, here was quite bearable (oddly) while other regions parched. Hope for sporadic effect. Or in extreme cases, a volcano going off on some unpopulated Pacific island.

I however would invest in shares in companies that manufacture air conditioners.

Interestingly, the news (it was UK-local) was commenting on the fact that last year air conditioner sales went through the roof, and no doubt they would do the same this year.

I will be grateful that my bed is next to the window and that I am on an upper floor.

I find ground floors are usually cooler, due to the tendency of heat to rise; but one may not get those evening breezes (if any).

True, but with a first floor apartment I don't have to worry so much about security issues regarding the windows.
