how fast one gets addicted
Apr. 3rd, 2011 02:24 amI have a passing urge to try and turn the Lorenzaccio and Hamlet pictures by Mucha into a fabric, title it Takurazuka, and see who gets the joke. (Explanation: the pictures are of Sarah Bernhardt, playing both roles.)
The shops were very busy today, particularly those selling things which might be acceptable presents for mothers. I must remember to phone my own tomorrow, and can only hope the present got there in time. (UK Mother's Day is on a different day to the American one, for reference, and for any American friends who might panic.)
It is sad how fast one gets addicted to going to quilt shows and other craft shows. There's one in Uttoxeter somewhere in a few weeks time, and I'm looking at train timetables, and muttering to myself, "Two hours each way on the train is manageable, if I start early enough . . ."

Chiropteromancy
Bat-related studies were once the exclusive preserve of quiet researchers hiding in dark laboratory corners. Since the Fall, Chiropteromancy has become rather fashionable, and even has its own University department. Bat experts are much like their subjects, and mistrust the glare of public interest. If you address them directly, they blink and squeak and scurry away.
