And now someone in the Independent newspaper (in a movie review) has used a particular phrase. Shame on them.

I am referring to the modern habit of saying that a person is "grieving the X", as in "grieving the death of his father" or "grieving the loss of his lottery ticket". Bah. Bah and humbug. The proper phrasing is "grieving over the death of his father" or "grieving for the loss of his lottery ticket". If I ever catch people who use that phrase, I shall give them something to grieve for. With a big stick.

In other news, the weather continues late-summer hot and everyone is in short sleeves.

I could totally commit that sin if I weren't thinking about it. My fingers have made then/than errors from time to time, much to my horror! (Usually I catch them at the backspace stage, thank goodness.)

Well, there was that time I wrote "resurgence of tribadism" instead of "resurgence of tribalism" in some stuff about barbarians for the Exalted rpg. Fortunately I noticed it before handing that in. :)

BTW, I was considering to make that pocketed scarf for you out of some Noro Iro, which I have in colorway 054. Check out this page - http://www.yarndex.com/yarn.cfm?yarn_id=1174 - and the Fall 2005 shadecard for a picture of what it looks like knitted up. (It's the one on the top left.) Would that color mix be okay?

(Or I could just get some more yarn anyhow, there's the Knitting and Stitching Show coming up in London in eight days which I have a ticket to...)
