would that tomorrow were not Monday
Jun. 18th, 2012 12:59 amFinished another quilt today. Also remembered to text my father for a quick Father's Day communication, and my present had got there in time, so that was all right.
Livejournal is displaying football graphics in the top stripe. (At least, my journal layout displays them.) One cannot escape the Euro 2012. No doubt we will soon enough have Olympic rings there.
And the only real problem with the new Whispers Underground book is that it leaves me with so many more questions. :)
---
"Me and Kumar are going to drop down through the hatch, meet up with his patrolman and see if we can track where the veggies went," I said.
"Kumar and I," said Nightingale. "Not 'me and Kumar'." Nightingale periodically attempted to improve my grammar and was curiously deaf to what I consider a pretty convincing and sophisticated argument that the rules of English grammar are largely an artificial construct with little or no bearing on the language as it is spoke.

Date: 2012-06-18 04:12 am (UTC)I know a bookseller who won't read the latest Pratchett until the next one has come out, not because of more questions but because, well, if anything happens to Pratchett at least there's one more book of his left to read. I understand this attitude but couldn't possibly put it into practice.
