Aug. 8th, 2012 01:20 amGreat Britain has done surprisingly well in the Olympics. I'm astonished. Though it's going to be a heck of a standard to live up to in four years time in Rio.
Ah well, at least it'll be all over soon. And while I admit I have been enjoying watching bits and pieces, and that half the office has a browser window pointed at the live text feed from the BBC, it'll be nice to be able to watch the news and get actual news, rather than Constant Olympics Rehash.

Freddie experienced the sort of abysmal soul-sadness which afflicts one of Tolstoy's Russian peasants when, after putting in a heavy day's work strangling his father, beating his wife, and dropping the baby into the city's reservoir, he turns to the cupboards, only to find the vodka bottle empty.
