a pox on the phony king of England!
Aug. 20th, 2012 03:02 amI found myself watching the Disney Robin Hood this afternoon (while hand-sewing the binding on a quilt, and with nothing else particularly being worth watching on the television) and was delighted to discover a strong-willed, definite, firm, positive female character in it.
. . . no, it wasn't Maid Marian, it was her nurse/chaperone/maid the chicken, Lady Kluck.
Entertaining chase scenes, though.
Also most amused by the fact that all the heroes had American accents and all the villains had English accents. In Robin Hood. Yes. (Except Lady Kluck, who had a Scottish accent. Go Kluck.)

"I sentence you to sudden, instant, and even immediate death!"
-- Prince John, in the Disney Robin Hood

(I thought Sir Hiss had a more snakey accent, m'self... >_> )
