Of course, the problem with adding a thick blanket to bed and becoming completely warm and comfortable in bed is then the difficulty of getting out of bed in the morning.

Fortunately this was Saturday.

I find adding the thick blanket makes it hard to turn over in the bed during the night. Thus I add layers to me instead and go to sleep fully dressed. The warmth is still hard to leave in the morning.

I do shift to thicker pyjamas and bedsocks, as well. The days of happy scoffing at such things are far in the past.
