still alive
Dec. 29th, 2012 09:15 pmWe have eaten up the goose. (See also cold goose, goose and ham pie, and goose soup.) We have also finished off the Christmas pudding (including the remainder that got fried up and served with the remainder of the brandy butter) and the Boxing Day trifle.
Life is warm and tasty.
Have taken advantage of the post-Christmas sales, just a bit. Have also been to see the Hobbit with family. Opinions vary (we could have done without the rabbit-chase) and my father had some comments on narrative structure and pacing, but we were on the whole amused. And I then got the book off the shelf and reread it so that I could be sure what they'd gotten wrong. There really should be a word for "rereading a text to confirm one's own opinion of one's memory in a self-congratulatory fashion by checking it against a reworking of said text".
Just a couple of days to go till 2013. And more rain, probably.
