the usual Sunday evening whine
Jul. 1st, 2013 02:24 amI wish the weekend lasted longer.
Must see about booking a week off in August to go down to visit my parents. Must also start planning what to do later this year, and theoretical holiday then. Plots, plans, pots, pans, etc.
---
“It’s the local Prosecco,” Bella said, presenting Irene with a full glass and tugging her down to sit next to her at the corner table their group had commandeered. “Cheers!”
“You’re really enjoying yourself,” Irene said. She sipped. No immediate signs of being poisoned. She sipped again.
“It makes a nice change to get away from the responsibility,” Bella said with unexpected venom. “All those shrines to administer, all those serpents to care for, all those trespassers to watch out for, and when do I ever get the chance to have a few days off for myself? I’m always the one who has to milk the serpents while my master seduces all the heroes. It’s not fair.” She took a swallow of the wine.

Date: 2013-07-01 09:22 am (UTC)(Irene is currently hanging out at a tavern with a group of young Fae who are all "background story figure" types, disguised as one of them. They're... the sort of level of character of "the named character who gets told to provide a background reading in a Stark Trek episode but never shows up afterwards", as opposed to "regular bridge officer". They're rather depressed about it.)
