hair today, quilt tomorrow
Aug. 10th, 2013 01:46 amI feel virtuous after having a haircut (the first one in several years, and really just a trim, to be honest) but also a bit depressed. The hair always looks nice when you're looking in the mirror in the hairdresser, but five minutes later when you see your reflection in a shop window outside, well... Put it this way, the hairdresser left it elegantly down and au naturel-ish (rather than the high ponytail or bun that I usually go with), and five minutes after being exposed to a bit of a breeze and some fast walking, it was flopping all over the place, and I looked much untidier than usual, and was not at all happy with my reflection. Or myself. Fortunately I had my hairband and combs in my bag, so after a bit of amateur work in a convenient window reflection, I was at least a bit tidier and my hair was no longer in my eyes.
But still. I have less split ends now. And when I get up and put my hair up as usual tomorrow, I will forget all this.
Because I am going to a quilt show. (does a little dance)
