waiting all Sunday

Did not manage to get plumber today. (Though could possibly have got one if I'd been luckier, as they were promising at around 12pm that someone would call within 3 hours.) Have got one scheduled for tomorrow, "between 5-10pm".

Have growing stack of dishes that need washing.

Hopefully work will take my mind off things - or failing that, I can have a satisfactory moan to my coworkers.

I left work early. (To be honest, the current senior team member waved me off with a "don't worry, take as much time as you need". He's a decent guy.

Unfortunately, plumber did not show up. When I phoned back, I was told that they phoned me but there was no answer. Some experimenting suggests that my phone has a problem with ringing when it gets an incoming call. Bugger. One more thing to sort out.

Plumber is rescheduled for tomorrow morning. Excuse me while I eat fudge and play mindless games and curse.

All three reactions are perfectly understandable. But what if they call tomorrow morning and your phone doesn't ring?

I gave them my mobile number as well, and will have to sit around with it actually turned on and next to me all morning. Hopefully they will come earlier rather than later.

I usually hope for later rather than earlier because I hate having to get up early; but then I don't have work piling up for me at an office...

Since I am going to have to get up at the earliest point anyhow, in case they do get here early, I'm currently operating on a "the sooner the better" point of view. I will probably feel differently about it early tomorrow morning.
