the human (and Time Lord) condition
Aug. 24th, 2014 02:16 amDecent day. Got fabrics for new quilt top. Avoided rain.
Watched new Doctor Who. Possibly we should not build up such high excitement for a new series. While I enjoyed the new Doctor and found him interesting, I have found (and still find) the current companion bland, and I wasn't overly impressed by the story either. Creepy moments, not-so-impressive plot.
In some ways the whole post-regeneration-instability felt a bit like the iconic scenes from certain plays, where you know that certain elements are going to be present and certain lines are going to be spoken, and the important question is how they're going to do it. I suppose we should be grateful that he didn't try to strangle his companion this time.
(Though probably if I were now to be watching other regenerations for the first time, I would level complaints at them too. Nobody is ever satisfied, and the past is always golden in comparison.)
