Also, with reference to the upcoming Scottish referendum, it is always a bad idea to try to bargain when you're desperate and it shows. Why does our government have to be both evil and incompetent?

“It looked like one.” Irene found herself backing towards him. The two of them stood together in the middle of the corridor, as far as they could get from coatstands, pictures, bookcases, or other objects that might have spiders hiding behind them.
“Do you think it’s poisonous?”
Irene snorted. “Do you think there’s even the remotest chance that it isn’t?”
