One gets used to convenience way too fast.
To be more specific, today a QA meeting ran for an hour and three quarters, and I felt mildly annoyed because at the current point, that is quite long for one of our QA meetings. Which just goes to show how much I've got used to shorter meetings: they used to go on for practically half the day, be much more disputative, and have horrendous minutes to write up. (Of course, we did all whine and complain like crazy when our team leaders shifted the meetings to twice-monthly rather than once-monthly, and when they introduced new forms to submit queries on, ways of handling research, etc, but hey, all of that is no doubt purely irrelevant.) How fast one gets used to having it easier.
A week and a half to go. Must do things like collect e-ticket, get dollars, phone credit card company so they don't cut me off when I'm making purchases in the US, check presents, organise laundry, clean kitchen and bathroom, mail book files to self for working on while I'm away... perhaps I need to add a few extra days to the week while I'm at it.
