incandescensHad an extremely lazy day, but got the two most important things done: finished Frozen quilt, and finished current book 3 chapter.
Will therefore go to sleep feeling virtuous.

“Pardon me,” Kai said to Irene. He stepped across to where Zayanna was lounging and backhanded her across the face, slamming her into the sofa.
“Kai!” Irene snapped. “Control yourself!” God knows she’d wanted to hit Zayanna for that little bit of spite, but this couldn’t possibly help.
“My friend has helped you and for that you return undeserved insult,” he said, standing above Zayanna. Faint scale-patterns showed like frostmarks on the surface of his skin, on his hands and face. “You will not do so again, or I will throw you out on the street, and your patron may have you living or dead to serve his whim.”
