I got nine out of ten on this quiz - http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/tvandradioblog/quiz/2015/feb/12/spiral-quiz-test-your-french-slang - which was mostly due to a vocabulary of slang gained from reading French rpgs, In Nomine Satanis/Magna Veritas in particular. It certainly wasn't due to any French vocabulary I learned at school. Then again, my mother also got nine out of ten by picking the "rudest option" throughout, so eh bien.

Was given a new laptop at work today. Now have a large amount of time on today's worksheet devoted to "getting new laptop, having new laptop connected up, and having most of my packages reinstalled". I am aware that as laptop upgrades go, I came out of it quite well. There are so many ways that they can go wrong, or leave you with large chunks of stuff missing, or worse...

Though, I think the one that started "Putain!" and ended with "bordel" didn't actually mean what any of the options said it did. (I just went with the one with the most sex in it.)
