I'm dreaming of a full doll's house
Feb. 25th, 2015 02:54 amThe weather continues fairly mild - well, cold and somewhat windy, and reported rain elsewhere, but certainly nothing like in parts of the US, so I will count my blessings.
Work was at a point where it was slightly less busy than it had been, so I went to my line manager to check if there was anything she particularly needed doing. I now have a big spreadsheet to check. I'm actually quite pleased - it needs doing, it'll fit comfortably into pre-holiday time, and it's far better than having to write documentation or draw up a survey or whatever.
Picked up a doll's house magazine (that is, one about making and filling dolls' houses, not one that should be put in a doll's house) and was reading it, and am now suppressing the urge to take up making and filling dolls' houses. Common sense wins the day - I have no space, I have no real interest in taking up carpentry/etc, and it would just gather dust. That's the problem with reading crafting books or magazines. There's this sudden urge to dedicate your life to such things. (Or is it just me?) Fortunately the urge passes fairly soon.

Date: 2015-02-26 01:58 am (UTC)Also, I think part of it may be the fact that I have got somewhere with the quilting/etc, over the last few years. The effect carries over, and one starts believing that in other stuff relating to craft (as opposed to art) that it might be possible to manage things, at least to an average standard, with sufficient effort/study. Of course, the question is, does one want to put in the time and effort?
(Answer: probably not. But the stuff is so pretty.)

And that does sound like a satisfying project!
*watches the snow falling outside the windows* Yes, it's good to enjoy mild weather.
