The weather continues fairly mild - well, cold and somewhat windy, and reported rain elsewhere, but certainly nothing like in parts of the US, so I will count my blessings.

Work was at a point where it was slightly less busy than it had been, so I went to my line manager to check if there was anything she particularly needed doing. I now have a big spreadsheet to check. I'm actually quite pleased - it needs doing, it'll fit comfortably into pre-holiday time, and it's far better than having to write documentation or draw up a survey or whatever.

Picked up a doll's house magazine (that is, one about making and filling dolls' houses, not one that should be put in a doll's house) and was reading it, and am now suppressing the urge to take up making and filling dolls' houses. Common sense wins the day - I have no space, I have no real interest in taking up carpentry/etc, and it would just gather dust. That's the problem with reading crafting books or magazines. There's this sudden urge to dedicate your life to such things. (Or is it just me?) Fortunately the urge passes fairly soon.

I am in awe of anyone who picks up crafty stuff and thinks 'I wanna do this!' instead of 'Must be nice to be able to do that.' Maternal influences, perhaps? (I think you said she quilted before you did?)

It's not just you. *laughs*

It is good when the urge passes quickly.

And that does sound like a satisfying project!

*watches the snow falling outside the windows* Yes, it's good to enjoy mild weather.
