So what was my idea for Mozart's Abduction from the Seraglio?

Set it in the modern day, but make the protagonists immigrants and the location the UK. The heroine Konstanze has been kidnapped by people traffickers. The villain Osmin becomes a UK-local (UKIP?) with stereotypical views on immigrants and foreigners. (One can even imagine him quoting Cameron's comments about "swarms" of them.) Pasha Selim becomes a more enlightened specimen of UK bureaucracy.

... no, I'm not necessarily saying it should be done, but I think it could be done.

Anyhow. Back to work tomorrow, then off in the evening to Birmingham for a two-day course on presentation skills (Tuesday and Wednesday - work is paying the hotel bills for Monday and Tuesday nights), getting back Wednesday evening. Then back to work on Thursday. Hey ho.

A charming agenda. Why do coders need presentation skills? Or is it for management types?

My current job description involves a bit of management (little as I want it), and my job duties do end up from time to time involving giving a presentation/talk about the virtues of cross-mapping and the SNOMED CT terminology. The whole "go on a presentation skills course" thing has been bobbing around on my PDR (Performance Development Review) for a couple of years now, and it finally caught up with me.
