So my father pointed out an obituary in today's paper to me.

I loved her writing.

Damn.

Will now go and play centrifugal bumble-puppy. Or Gondal. Or both.

Oh dear. (And how odd that (fannish) one should feel a pang about someone who stopped writing twenty years ago and wouldn't have restarted writing anyway. It's just... oh.)

She's someone whose writing has always been there. It feels wrong that it -- or she -- should be taken away. "We'll always have Antonia Forest . . ." But now we don't.
