I know. I've been absolutely dreadful at keeping up on this. My only excuse is that it tends to be the last thing I do at night, and by the time I've got to that point, I'm so tired I don't get round to doing it. So. Bad writer, no biscuit.
Work is being hectic and will get moreso. I've got two months before handing in book five. Oh, and I had an "NHS Health Check" thing on Tuesday, and apparently I may have high blood pressure and I have to go back in a fortnight to get it checked again. (Wonder why.)
I have just today seen the prospective cover of book five. It is gorgeous, and I wish I could share it (and the title) here. I will do as soon as it goes public - though that may not be for a while yet.
Today's major achievement, besides surviving several meetings and getting a bit further on with the current big confrontation scene in progress, was sewing new belt loops onto my new coat. It's a lovely new coat, a wrap-across jacket with a huge dramatic shawl collar, and I do like it, but the belt loops were incredibly flimsy. It was only a matter of time till they went. So I now have new belt loops on there, which aren't quite as elegant but which will hopefully last better.
London on Saturday - it was my mother's birthday on Tuesday (busy day!) and those family members who could have agreed to meet up for lunch, Murder on the Orient Express, and a Chinese restaurant for supper. Should be excellent. Unfortunately, there's rail work on the line between here and London, which means my trains there and back are going to be a bit constrained, and I'm going to have to leave early and come back late. Oh well, there's always Sunday to recover in - and as long as I have reading matter with me, and the train carriage is reasonably heated, I'll be okay.
