Depressed. Art on particular project is having problems. (No, I can't talk about it; yes, I wish I could.) Feeling urge to kick something hard.

Did not manage to get any work-writing done tonight. Started new YnM piece, but that was before got news about art.

Possible biochemical reasons also. God cannot be female or she would have invented a better system.

Also, upstairs bathroom is being replumbed, which means parents will be using shower next to my (downstairs) bedroom tomorrow morning, and they get up earlier than I do.

Feel urge to go and join contemplative nunnery, as life is wasteland, etcetera.

(Why the hell do I have to have a sense of the ridiculous? It screws up a good depression.)

Hope that I get a really complex but at the same time manageable spreadsheet request at work tomorrow, as it will at least take my mind off sakura-strewn wasteland, etcetera.

I was wrong. There IS an artbook. ^_^

I know nothing about the vendor, but it's probably available elsewhere.

Hope the pretty boys help.

:hugs:

There's a convent near my folk's home that's famous for their cheese cakes. I don't know how much contemplating goes on, but *cheese cakes*. Just an idea if you ever need a vacation, although I would never recommend upstate NY.

Don't let the wasteland drag you too down. There are small things, like cheese cakes and YnM fics that make even this cyclic existence a bit more bearable. Cheese cakes, and YnM fics, and hot baths, and red wine, and the smell of spring, etcetera ^_^

Mmmm... cheesecakes.

There's a monastary I know of that lets people stay there for weeks at a time. You have to follow some rules, but don't have to be Catholic, just quiet and respectful and do some of the chores; but I've heard it's a wonderfully quiet place to write in from an author friend of mine.

I wonder if all such places have some program like that... a way to get away from it all without having to chuck it all permanently. I'd be real tempted. *grin*

From the explanation, I think one has the choice. One can attend the services, if they appeal, or avoid them completely.

Sadly, all I can offer is Akio or Touga from Utena with their shirts off. And you know how they are about their shirts and the buttons.

*is irresistibly reminded of a friend's Lilacazukamori pose when in grim moods*

Hope things improve.

I find this part beautiful and heart-warming. (wanders off to cry.)

I really hope that art isn't the art I fear it might be...

Must smite poor designer of female biological system. I can think of at least one minor change that would both make overall neatness go up, and possibly serve as low-level birth control.

And that's before I get started on the biochemistry.

Why not come down here and be an exotic foreign nanny? O;>

Can't resist. What? Exclusive of bio-chemistry, I mean. Yearly estrus instead of monthly? or is that still bio-chemistry? (Feel free to email me if you don't want to discuss this in a male-read comments section: basara@eol.ca)

A sphincter muscle in the cervix, much like that which blocks the bladder from just dribbling all over everything. With voluntary control over it as well as autonomic, then it could also reduce the chances of pregnancy by, well, clamping shut.

Tricky, mind, and hardly foolproof, but it would probably reduce the chances.

And -- since this is taking forever to post, I'll add -- I'm shameless. Now, incandescens might smite the topic....

*ducking*

Besides I now know why female dragon physiology normally doesn't admit of penetration- A sphincter muscle in the cervix- with *no* voluntary control. Requires about eight hours of tai-chi like dancing to make it relax. Thank you.

Well, it wouldn't be the cervix, probably, that was the problem? It would be vaginal in that case. The cervix sphincter would just prevent sperm from coming in...

Depending on dragon physiology, of course.

Mmhh. I see. The dragon vagina is relatively longer than the human one but there's some obstruction near the entrance of it. I'd thought its closed state was just a kind of natural vaginismus. Could be a vaginal sphincter however. Raising interesting questions of whether dragons can relax it by something less time-consuming than a long ritual dance mutter mutter. (Yes I know constructing new races is old hat to you guys but it's the first time /I've/ ever done it.)

*grin* Perhaps certain drugs? Deep unconsciousness? Maaaaaagic?

Still, if they have any sort of, well, gates there (cartilage teeth?), a male dragon probably doesn't want to take any chances with trying to bop a pretty one over the head and have his way with her while she's all @.@ eyes. She might wake up. And clamp down.

That, and fertility is yet another factor, of course. Perhaps they have the additional hurdle of induced ovulation, like cats; cats do not ovulate unless they mate. Unlike cats, presumably dragons require something less trivial...
