consolation
Jan. 14th, 2004 01:13 amRenouncing sugar in my coffee (sweetener does not taste the same, though it's tolerable) seems to be having some effects. That, and the general cutback on snacks and refusal of second helpings. Next question; will this continue next week? Tune in, same time, same Bat-channel, same whimperings. I shall go and rewrite a fluffy fantasy author's cute wood-dwelling mages into vicious dream-eating fae to console myself.

Question and Answer in the Mountains
They ask me why I live in the green mountains.
I smile and don't reply; my heart's at ease.
Peach blossoms flow downstream, leaving no trace --
And there are other earths and skies than these.

Date: 2004-01-13 06:45 pm (UTC)Splenda (http://www.splenda.com/) is the ultimate non-sugar sweetener. It's made from sugar but is altered {sometimes i think 'neutered' and giggle} so that it doesn't affect blood sugar levels like cane sugar and zero calories.
i can't say enough about the ~taste~, it's fabulous stuff. i wouldn't go near the pink or blue packets of fake sweetener with a ten foot pole, or someone else's finger. splenda you can taste 'raw' and it's ~just~ like sugar. wonderful wonderful substitute for drinks, sprinkling and cooking.
check it out! look for yellow packets or boxes, most supermarkets are carrying it now, it's becoming more popular.
Cheers!
