You know how you decide to stop off in the nearby shops after work in order to pick up a prescription? But the chemist is shut. And the supermarket, which you needed to get some food from, is rather small. So you think, well, there is that larger supermarket about fifteen minutes walk away, certainly not more than twenty minutes, wouldn't take that much longer to drop in there. And while you're filling your prescription there and looking over the much fuller shelves, you recall that you needed that too, and you're almost out of this, and it wouldn't hurt if you took a few packets of cookies to your friends as well as those slab cakes, given you've got a whole weekend of gaming to look forward to . . .

. . . and when you're walking home, you have leisure to remember why all this is not always a good idea if applied simultaneously.

Still, it's done.

. . . Aware of this situation, we have decided to begin this campaign suitably (and it's going to need all your PCs' grey matter -- plus, of course, all their firepower in the hotter moments). We have opted, as I was saying, for a scenario of deception and manipulation. This little incursion into the literary and judiciary milieux will require your players to display a bit of initiative, an ounce of reflection, and a smidgeon of savoir-faire. Assuming they can manage a bit of self-discipline, the success of this mission shouldn't pose them any serious problems.

If this is their first time representing the Forces of Evil, don't hesitate to get the principle of discretion into their skulls (by exterior application of this book, if necessary) and stress the famous subtlety of demonic agents. It's a bit like homeopathy; if it doesn't help, at least it can't hurt.

I think I do that a lot, but I wish the store was not a mile away at times... The wrost was taking home 50 cans of soda, which were for my mom and she couldn't get them on the sale day. I never did it again ....
