Games went really, really well. I will start having nervous qualms again nearer the convention, but for the moment I'm greatly reassured.

And it was very good to see those friends again.

We finished playing around six o'clock on Sunday evening. I could have made a bolt for the train at that point, and got home before midnight, and been in to work today, but frankly, it was much more pleasant to sit round and chat with them, and to show them Onmyoji and some of GetBackers and watch some of Xaion and eat and drink and generally have a lazy evening.

Paid for it somewhat this morning, with an early start, and came back through London, and purchased a few books en route, as one does. Got home to find ironing, bath-scrubbing, and bed-making all waiting.

It would probably be sensible to have an early(ish) night tonight, wouldn't it?

I should rewatch some more of GetBackers, or at least have it running on the television so that I can look across for the really good moments. I fear the dub, when it comes. Not that I would listen to it anyhow, but -- some characters like Makubex or Akabane or Himiko or even Ginji have such very definite voices, and speak in such particular ways, I'm not sure I can even imagine them in American English. (And if they give Akabane an English accent, I shall be very dryly amused.)

---

O Where Are You Going?

"O where are you going?" said reader to rider,
"That valley is fatal when furnaces burn,
Yonder's the midden whose odours will madden,
That gap is the grave where the tall return."

"O do you imagine," said fearer to farer,
"That dusk will delay on your path to the pass,
Your diligent looking discover the lacking
Your footsteps feel from granite to grass?"

"O what was that bird," said horror to hearer,
"Did you see that shape in the twisted trees?
Behind you swiftly the figure comes softly,
The spot on your skin is a shocking disease."

"Out of this house," said rider to reader,
"Yours never will," said farer to fearer,
"They're looking for you," said hearer to horror,
As he left them there, as he left them there.

You have far more self-control than I. I'd laugh my arse off. That would just confirm my theory that Akabane == Snape.

Akabane needs to either be british, or have one of those impossible-to-pin-down-but-probably-American accents.

I am as afraid for his voice, as for his accent actually. I love that voice. *sigh*

Speak for yourself... I'd watch at least some of the dubs, but only _after_ I'd seen the subs. :P
