the fox went out on a shiny night

I was humming that song last night, but I could only remember the first verse, and a fragment from the last verse. ("She cried, John, John, your grey goose is gone, and the fox is on the town-o...")

So -- just blew a hundred dollars on the last chunk of Utena (last four dvds of same, to be more precise). I'd been planning to get it for a while, but the act of giving away all that money is always painful. I'm sure I'll get over it once I start watching it, though. Also got Pirates of the Caribbean, which I'd been thinking of getting, and have just been watching it with Beth.

(And I still think the heroine would have had a more stable long-term relationship with the Commodore than with the romantic hero she runs off with.)

Beth was making me (we do tend to use such forceful verbs, don't we?) watch dot HACK last night. Interesting stuff, but ten times more so for people who actually play online games and who can get more of the references. Definitely interesting.

I am learning many valuable lessons about handling four-year-olds. Dear sweet cute things as they are.
