I was rereading Esther Friesner's Psalms of Herod and Sword of Mary -- well, all right, not actually rereading them, just flicking through bits of them due to wanting to find a reference which was nagging at me -- and was struck by what a varied writer she is. Started in trad fantasy, went sideways into humour, did several serious ones, edited the Chicks in Chainmail anthologies . . . Really must check up and see what of hers is new lately. Haven't for a while.
Arranged tv license today. Next steps: (a) arrange Sky tv connection, (b) buy tv. Do (b) after receiving monthly pay. Also drop by MFI on Friday to see about ordering bookcases. Possibly do not mention that am getting more than one bookcase to parents, as it will spare a degree of comment.
Need to get my head down and get started on next assignment. Seriously.
Tomorrow . . . hm. I think beef, with courgette and onions and a bit of xo sauce. Yes. That should do. And remember to empty the bins. All of them.

And when the Commandments were given to Moses,
There was one that he chose to ignore,
For he thought that his people would have enough trouble
With the ten that had all gone before.
But he learned the Lord's will is beyond comprehension,
And past all our wish to evade.
It will find us at last, though we cower in darkness,
A refuge our own fears have made.
The final Commandment is written in heart's-blood,
Its sisters writ only in stone.
It will find us at last, be we waking or dreaming,
In sin or about to atone.
The wicked, the pious, the fallen, the angel --
In this, all their acts are as one,
For the words of the final Commandment eternal
Are these: Look at what you have done.
