the vous form
Jun. 30th, 2005 01:11 amIn preparation for the fact that the landlord's dropping round at 6pm tomorrow (and given a meeting I've got to attend finishes at 5.30pm, let's hope that doesn't overrun -- er, where was I?) I was doing some quick cleaning earlier. Wipe, wipe on the hob. Wipe, wipe in the bathroom. Hoover, hoover on the floor. Plus a decision to leave the washing till tomorrow evening, on the grounds that while a clotheshorse-full of damp clothing would show how well I was settling in, it wouldn't exactly provide conversational value. Or if it did, it probably wouldn't be the sort I wanted.
Nice peaceful day, with most of my coworkers elsewhere. Big afternoon of presentations/meetings tomorrow. The person who sits next to me was equally underenthusiastic about attending, but the bosses are in a general "request and require" mode, so no real choice there.
My father received his birthday present on time! And I remembered to phone him, too. (Slightly belatedly, but it was still the same day.) Excellent. Now I just need to avoid having to sit and watch the DVD I gave him in the future. :)
