a flame-red mirror opens on the east
Apr. 11th, 2011 12:19 amBunny Sanctuary Assistance was a lot of fun. It's a fairly small bunny sanctuary, basically in someone's back garden, but the bunnies are well cared for, and there were also several bric-a-brac stalls, a rabbit-equipment stall (you know what I mean, the sort of things you need to keep your bunny happy and healthy) and a "we clip your bunny's nails for you" stall. There were also people wandering round carrying bunnies and guinea pigs, and cute bunnies in runs/hutches to observe. And the weather was beautiful.
(The weather was possibly too beautiful: there were several comments that everyone would be out doing barbecues and similar weather-enjoying stuff, rather than coming to the fete as they might otherwise have done. Ah well.)
I sold a number of earrings/keyrings/etc, including a few which I made up to specifications on the spur of the moment, which totally justified carting along most of my bead stocks. Really.
Put away all the bead stuff with a deep breath of relief when I got back to my flat (and have yet to sort it all out back to its usual places) and got into some patchwork that I'd been planning for a while. Stitched up a load of nine-patches and hope to finish a planned quilt top tomorrow. Assuming I'm not too zoned from work.
Rather tired now, but that's to be expected when I get up early (shudder) on a Sunday morning.
Excellent day.
(Also won a basket of Easter chocolates in the bunny sanctuary raffle. Which definitely doesn't hurt at all.)

The Twelve Moons
[...]
Sixth Moon
Now the people cut the unbaked silks,
Now they split the speckled bamboos;
Wearing frost-colored silks, we lie on bamboo mats cool as autumn jade.
A flame-red mirror opens on the east,
A vertiginous cartwheel forever climbing upward,
Comes the Red Emperor riding on a humming dragon.*
