hibernation is a tempting dream

WHERE HAS THE YEAR GONE?!?
It has definitely shifted to colder. I've got out my gloves, am on the point of getting out my scarf, and have got out the Big Heavy Knitted Blanket to go over my duvet. Tomorrow morning I shall sleep in, curled up happily under it.

Worst of all, he had ideas. Ideas like, 'You know, it seems to me there are better ways to identify known criminals than by the size of their skulls. Maybe the pressure patterns on their lips, or their toes, or even their fingers? Obviously I would need to do a study, with perhaps . . . oh, a magnifying glass, a very large wall, a sizeable bottle of ink, a lot of paper and two thousand volunteers, give or take.' Naturally, the chief inspector had put a stop to that ridiculous idea fairly smartish.
