Very nice day. Well, there was work, but it was straightforward work which required concentration, so I got my head down and got on with it. There was also a card from coworkers, the cakes that I'd brought in, presents from my family, and a nice dinner out with steak and a glass of wine. And lots of birthday wishes on twitter, facebook, and email.
So, you know. Good day.
(Any slight casualness in journal entry may be due to said rather large glass of wine.)
---
“First things first,” Irene said. She patted Kai’s shoulder. “Good job. Very good job. You didn’t get hurt, did you?”
“Nothing to signify,” Kai rumbled.
Which could mean anything from I broke my fingernail to a severe wound, but I will suffer in silence so as not to worry you. Irene changed her pat to a prod. “Kai,” she said in warning tones.
“Seriously, nothing important. I might have pulled a few muscles, but no more than that.” He snorted. “We should be more worried about the future.”
