An absolutely splendid couple of days. Though most of the stuff in the first day's meeting went somewhat over my head, the second day (the actual clinical-code-tech as opposed to the more general department planning) made plenty of sense, and it was a delight to be with people who were clinical-code-experts like myself and knew what I meant when I talked about things, and could sympathise with my problems in getting coding organised and working because they'd had the same ones.
Ahem. Babble.
Other notes:
a) Good Chinese restaurant that we went to. No doubt will go again.
b) Okay, okay. One Piece is excellent and I need to get more of it.
c) The Persona manga which I got hold of (by Naotsugu Matsueda, translated into the French, straight trilogy which is set in the same universe as the games but takes place somewhere between timelines) was pretty enough and interesting enough but failed to really surprise me in any significant way, or to make me want to wonder about the characters afterwards. Still. Pretty. Not bad to have, not complaining. Just not -- more.
d) Botheration. If Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is, as it seems, the best thing on the current market in its style for the Gameboy, then any other game in the same line I get is going to be inferior by comparison. Sigh. Now we need "something else brand new but just the same and just as good".
e) Tonkamshop have emailed me to say my order's on its way. (French manga.) Finally. It's been a month. (I believe this is because they don't ship till the order's complete, and they don't bother telling you whether items on their pages are currently in stock or are not in stock and will need additional time to obtain.) They are unlikely to be getting many orders from me in the future. Well, unless I really can't get it elsewhere.
f) I'm actually looking forward to work tomorrow. It's been a while since I did that. Fascinating.

Pablo Neruda's I'm Explaining A Few Things. Good stuff. Strong. http://www.cs.rice.edu/~ssiyer/minstrels/poems/816.html

Date: 2004-07-29 09:01 am (UTC)Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles looks pretty interesting to me... of course, it also looks like it's best as a multiplayer game, with a Gamecube and several friends. None of which do I have. :) Well, okay, I have friends, but not many readily available ones. ^^
