Loin, tres loin du monde
Ou rien ne meurt jamais
J'ai fait ce long,
Ce doux voyage,

Nos ames se confondent
Aux neiges eternelles
L'amour cachait
Son vrai visage

... okay, stopping.

The new picture is of Kanzeon Bosatsu (aka Kuan-yin) from the Saiyuki manga. I rather like the air of stressedness. I tried to upload someone's image of Aoshi as the _Tower_ card from the major arcana, but it was too large. Darn.

I regret my lack of strength in forking out for the hardback _Promethea_ second collected set, but the temptation was too strong. Right.

I need to work on my two scenarios for Ambercon UK, _The Sacred Hunt_ and _Murder By Decree_, as the playtest for both of them will probably be within the fortnight. Hm. The first will be much more amusing if any of the players know their sacred king rituals and put two and two together. The second will be interesting, especially if I can play the city coroner right. If the PCs start screaming and throwing things at me when they work out who he is, I'll be on the right lines. Of course, I have a distinct advantage in that at least one of the players likes playing tormented pursued dark angstful characters. By all means, let me oblige her.

When Arthur Conan Doyle killed off Sherlock Holmes (ah, Reichenbach!) people across England wore black armbands, and a woman wrote to him, starting her letter with, "You murderer!" There is nothing new in fandom under the sun.

You know, you can use most any image editor program to shrink images to the right size for uploading (max of 100x100 pixels).

(Oh, and you can also use the HTML tags for italics instead of having to underline. The Windows LJ client will do it for you, if you should be using Windows. :)

Ah, killing characters. It can be such a gleeful thing, if you've got the appropriately receptive players on hand.

I have to give credit to George R. R. Martin for teaching me that most important lesson -- no matter how interesting or cool your NPCs may be, no one, but no one, is safe from getting killed off. And your story's potency will thank you for it.

Hee. I'm forking out for the second collection, too. I just finished reading the first, and had to get it.
