a ruby earring
Aug. 12th, 2004 01:29 amThe dentist wasn't too bad. Had edge of filling filed down, and a temporary filling put over it, and am currently working on remembering not to chew on that side for 24 hours. Have an appointment for a proper filling in October. (It doesn't clash with Yaoicon, April, don't worry. ;))
My copy of Jim Butcher's latest novel, Blood Rites, turned up today. It is, as I expected, excellent. But for reasons which are rather complicated to explain, but which a number of ex-AmberMushers would understand, I am very amused to see that Lord Raith has a single ruby earring.
(Why, yes, some things I remember well.)
Am QAing and editing a chunk of procedures at work. This is inspiring me to think kind thoughts towards editors everywhere. It takes time.
It's raining outside. Good, better, excellent. Let's have more of it.

Fen, to one of the villains: "It's only that I know your type of undergraduate so well. It's always existed in Oxford -- over-clever, incapable of concentration or real thought, affected, arty, with no soul, no morals, and a profound sense of inferiority."
