long enough
Dec. 29th, 2004 11:58 pmAnother fairly quiet day; finished the jigsaw. Didn't take my jacket down for cleaning after all, decided to leave it till next week; did, however, take a couple of bagfuls of stuff for charity down to the shops, which has left slightly more room on my shelves.
(It won't last.)
Up to London tomorrow. I'm torn between hoping I find lots of books I want (which unfortunately means spending too much) or hoping I don't (which unfortunately means not finding lots of books I want). Decisions, decisions.
Post-Christmas leftover food slowly dwindles. Goodbye remaining portion of trifle, farewell that dried-fruits-in-alcohol thing my mother did instead of Christmas pudding, adieu last slice of goose pie, farewell-till-we-meet-again panettone my sister brought home for Christmas . . .
It's almost getting to the point where plain bread and cheese for lunch is a positive treat. ;) (There is, you see, Moral Pressure to finish up all leftovers in the fridge before we eat new stuff. Not that the leftovers are bad, but, well.)
Moderately pleased with the latest chunk of GetBackers story. I have kept faith with the tenets of mystery writing; I have recorded the facts and not left them out; and if the characters place an interpretation on them, that is their own business.

And the days are not full enough
And the days are not full enough
And the nights are not full enough
And life slips by like a field mouse
Not shaking the grass.
