Yes, yes, I admit it. Falling asleep between supper and 11:55pm last night was not one of my best ideas. The fact that I had emotionally cathartic experience pre-supper (watching The Incredibles, excellent movie, though I can't help noticing that the principle male characters have active/proactive powers, while the principle female characters (except for the costume designer who steals every single scene she's in) have adaptive/reactive powers . . . er, anyhow) and a rather late supper at that, with plenty of alcohol, might have been involved.

At least I woke up pre-midnight and didn't have to be woken up to go outside and listen for the boats down at the docks sounding off, etc. Plus there was brandy involved. Did I mention the brandy?

Anyhow. A happy new year to you all.

My mother's off tomorrow for a week at a health farm, and I hope she enjoys it, and doesn't spend too much time working on the laptop she's taken along with her. My father's off on Monday - Wednesday to Guernsey to spend some time with sister and father.

Will I get up on time for work on Tuesday? Interesting question. I do hope that the answer will be yes.

New year's resolution? Get nose to grindstone and write more. (Also, Do Not Panic Re Moving House, but that's more of a one-off than a regular thing.)

"And what does that make you! The feted artist, the dashing dandy. But by night -- philanderer, sodomite and assassin!"

As a thumbnail sketch of me that wasn't half bad.

actually, i think elastigirl's powers are both active and reactive? also, interesting note--if you watch the credits, you'll see that the costume designer is voiced by none other than the writer himself *grin* isn't that cool? she must've been his favorite.

happy new year!

I agree. Elasti-Girl was a very pro-active character in terms of how she used her powers. If she was stretching out of the way, that'd be one thing, but she kept doing those across-the-room punches and such. Heck, I want to play a stretchy super now, and I've never wanted to do that before.

The only thing I didn't like about it, was how *actively* they plugged being skinny. Aside from the animation style, all I could think during the crossing-the-lava sequence was, 'if he hadn't lost the weight he'd never have made it.' Plugging health is good, but we're not a healthy country.
