brief update
Jan. 23rd, 2005 09:15 pmNecessarily brief, as provider still not responding -- must phone and complain tomorrow, on parental computer again.
Back safely, all went smoothly. Definitely know which one I'm after (unfurnished), will do some last-minute checks with friends tomorrow before phoning up to try to get it. It's not going to be physically available till the end of Feb in any case, which gives me some time to prepare.
Leeds still gorgeous, but five hours on train rather trying.

Date: 2005-01-23 10:24 pm (UTC)You go, girl! And we want to see pictures! Whereabouts in Leeds is it?
And how about a goodbye dinner in London sometime before you go? We have two incomes now, so call it my treat.

Date: 2005-01-24 01:51 am (UTC)Have no pictures to hand, except of rather bland outside, but it's in Holbeck Urban Village about 10 minutes walk south of the station, on the first floor -- unfurnished. Apparently Holbeck Urban Village is on the border of a dubious-ish area, but the police are working on it. I'm reassured by the facts that (a) we were able to talk to the current tenant, who is a woman living there on her own, and she gave me a frank opinion that it's generally safe and while there is one road she wouldn't care to walk down at night alone, you don't have to take it, (b) there were cars sitting around parked in the open and unvandalised/etc.
A meal in London would be great! A Saturday somewhere in February, perhaps? (And thanks!)
