Ishida is as taut as a bowstring; he can feel the force thrumming along his nerves, see the crimson threads twisting through the air that mean shinigami.

Yesterday he would have stepped out and challenged them. Today things are -- different. It is possible that Kurosaki had a point in the things which he said.

But the fact remains, it would be simpler, and maybe even better, to walk away at this point. No more involvement.

He doesn't even know the girl beyond casual acquaintance.

Being a Quincy means something.

His fingers ache under the bandages. He draws his bow.

Awwww. Ishida's so often annoyingly stupid that I forget that he's kind of got a point. (A stupid point! But still a point.)
