Had a very vigorous afternoon walking round most of Bradford. Not a bad town, but I definitely prefer Leeds.
An epiphany came while I was examining the yarn in a rather convenient shop. I will not fret about not being able to visit my mother. I'll knit her an afghan or throw or something along those lines instead. Particularly given the trouble she'll be having with clothes at the moment.
So I got some of the Noro Kureyon that I was staring at at the time (amazing how these epiphanies come), and a plain grey yarn, and also some rather nice fluffy grey mohair/alpaca blend that had been reduced, and now I'm doing an afghan with the basic pattern of "knit all three yarns together and keep going till you run out of yarn". I've only managed a few rows so far, but it's not looking bad. Of course, it hasn't really started expanding yet. We'll see.
But I'm feeling better about things now. Something positive to do. It helps.
