Gah. Work's current policy of "work to rule and do not go out of our way to research information for the Directorates, in order to make them realise how much stuff they aren't giving us" may have eventual good effects, but is going to result in so much bad data in the meantime that I am in a state of continual wince. Spite face, cut off nose, etc. Gah. They recruit coders to be accurate and rapid and effective about getting the data -- are they surprised that we then develop nervous tics when asked to let it slide, even if it is to prove a point?
Okay, so work wasn't all that frustrating, but parts were.
Currently making notes about characters for an original piece. When you start writing stuff like Motivations : Become incarnation of evil, just like her favourite fictional character, you start to realise that you may have been reading the wrong books. Or reading about the wrong books. Whichever.
Must do some shopping tomorrow evening. My father's going over to Guernsey at the weekend to pay a pre-Christmas visit to relatives, and has helpfully offered to take Christmas presents and cards with him. Sing ho for saving of the postage. I must try not to load him down too badly.
