It has been a long day and my brain is not functioning.
Though after reading this entry on Ukitake from the Bleach databooks (link to the translation in the previous lj-entry):
He serializes an action adventure novel named, "Sougyou no Okotowari! (Rejection of the Twin Fishes!)" is about the protagonist, Sougyou, fighting to save villagers from evil. Sougyou's catch phrase is, "I will reject them!" and it is immensely popular among kids in Seireitei. Though its publication has paused before, once it makes an appearance again, the novel always clinches a place among the top 3 in popularity rankings.
. . . I can't help wondering if this is a nod to "Expelliarmus!"
Friday brain. Sue me.

Nothing, not love, not greed, not passion or hatred, is stronger than a writer's need to change another writer's copy. -- Arthur Evans
