(Sith Lords don't have to worry about people correcting their Latin.)

We will both have lightsabers and dark hooded cloaks.
Apparently there is something for me to collect at the post office. I am trying not to get my hopes up too high.
Two coworkers now off ill. Bother it. Planned QA meeting had to be cancelled due to lack of coworkers for quorum, which proves that every cloud has a silver lining.

Frustration
If I had a shiny gun,
I could have a world of fun
Speeding bullets through the brains
Of the folk who give me pains;
Or had I some poison gas,
I could make the moments pass
Bumping off a number of
People whom I do not love.
But I have no lethal weapon -
Thus does Fate our pleasure step on!
So they still are quick and well
Who should be, by rights, in hell.

Date: 2009-10-01 04:44 pm (UTC)Star Wars has two major languages, spoken or understood by almost everyone in the galaxy. They are understandably known as Galactic Standard and Galactic Basic. Standard is the older language, more formal and exact while Basic is easier to use in a day to day context. There are even more formal dialects of Standard, collectively referred to as High Galactic Standard, which is used as a religious language. Both languages are tremendously ancient and stable, and even speech from the very dawn of the Republic is understandable to the 'modern' ear. Given the only few examples of high Galactic Standard we have, your faux-Latin fits pretty well.
Still, this is by no means comprehensive. For more detail than you probably desire on the phenomenon of Polylinguistic culture in the Galaxy Far Far Away, read On Polylingualism (http://www.domuspublica.net/on_polylingualism.html) by a far more exhaustive student of the subject than I.

Sith Queen works nicely! But there is the implication, again, that there is a King somewhere. Darn the English language for inherently reducing the power of women.
