Filling successfully refilled. The dentist said that the rest of the tooth was healthy and solid, and he was reluctant to drill into it to make a more secure base, so I might need to live with the future possibility of it coming out again, though of course the end choice was with me. Since he is a dentist who seems to know what he is doing, I accepted what he said and got it refilled. (Side benefits: this meant it was just a case of clean/etch/refill, rather than a major injection/drill/etc job.)

Went back to work afterwards, as it was only 3.30pm at that point, though fortunately what remained was fairly basic stuff rather than anything really complicated. Even if nothing major gets done, going to the dentist always leaves me a bit off-balance afterwards.

Great Yorkshire Show tomorrow. The weather is forecast as "sunny with showers", so que sera sera. Will wear walking shoes and get up early.

Dentist visits always unbalance me, too. Glad you got through without anything undue. I'm about to have a filling refilled myself, too, so many sympathies.

I hope there's more sun than showers for you!

I am afraid I did get rained on part of the time. But I didn't melt!

The show was great fun. There was a apiary/bee tent (with honey samples, wax samples, prizes, etc) which I wish I could have shown you.

Fillings have gotten better in recent years. I can't remember when the last time was that I had to have one redone due to it falling out, but I know mine have lasted at least a good 5 - 7 years before needing to be replaced.

They are a lot better than they used to be, very much better indeed. I suspect this particular one would have lasted longer if it hadn't been on a high-impact area.
