some brief notes on the last few days

Yes, WorldCon was fantastic. I had a marvellous time, went to panels, went to parties (got introduced as "one of our new authors from Tor", wow), attended Seanan McGuire concert, bought tshirts (and other stuff) in the dealers' room, got autographs, spent too much, and had some very useful talks with my editor. I have a lot of rewriting to do on book 2, and will probably have to restart book 3 (though I can use bits I've already done there), but I'm feeling positive about it.

And it's been a lovely holiday.

Back to Leeds tomorrow, and back to work on Wednesday.

I can hear my father hammering on chicken escalopes in the kitchen downstairs. Should probably go down and ask if I can do anything useful.

Yay for a good time and feeling positive! Darn for rewriting -- I thought it was very smooth, personally. (Very much like a movie!)

What are chicken escalopes?

They're this dish involving chicken breasts hammered flat and then cooked in a crumb coating. I'm not really sure of the details except for the hammering.
