While normally I can see all the problems of having a "dislike", "hate", or "kill it with fire" button for downvoting posts on facebook, I reserve the right to temporarily change my mind, owing to there being an interpolated "sponsored post" from David Cameron amid my usual Facebook reading, asking for my opinions on immigration.

I detest the Conservatives. I detest UKIP as well. I am not overly fond of Labour or the Lib Dems - in fact, given the Lib Dem's record of failing to keep promises and wishy-washiness, I am unlikely to vote for them unless they get a change of leadership. Which leaves Labour or the Green Party. This is one of those times when you would be prepared to daydream about throwing away democracy, if only you could be sure that the tyrant you got was actually competent.

On a more cheerful note, I Got home this afternoon to find an ARC of The Invisible Library in my mailbox. I am therefore in a rather elevated mood whenever I think about it. It is extremely beautiful. (I know, I know, all authors say that about their new books. But it is.)

The Liberals got elected with a majority to run the province of Ontario. I have no idea how that happened considering this is the same government that blew 800 million (and counting) on cancelling 2 gas plants being built to save 5 Liberal seats in the election. The same government that was under 2 separate police investigations for criminal actions during the election (those police investigations have mysteriously stopped since they were re-elected because, y'know, the police union helped to get them re-elected). The same government that has further wasted 200 million on a pet project for their union buddies, promised said union buddies hundreds of millions in contract wage increases (which we can't afford), jacked our hydro rates by 40% over 5 years.... the list of wrongs done this province by the Liberals just goes on and on yet the idiots in southern Ontario voted these douchebags back into office with a majority no less.

Our Prime Minister (conservative) is very good at his job yet polls are showing he'll have some challenge from the Liberals because the leader of the party is the kid of a former PM. He's a fucking moron with the worst attendance record in parliament, thinks jihadists just need to have a hug and understanding to stop bombing shit and if you disagree with his views then that means you're a big giant poopy-head and you need to go away and stop bothering him with stupid stuff like the state of the economy and how to lower taxes and improving health care and junk.

Canadian politics sucks, provincially worst than federally.
