People continue to be absent from work on grounds of illness. People who aren't me, that is. (I did it before it was cool! Er, perhaps that's looking at it the wrong way.)

On a more positive note, today's munchies were very interesting. One coworker brought in a selection of Indian cakes (it was her birthday last week), most of which were sweet enough to make your teeth go *ping* and cue hasty swigs of tea or coffee. Another coworker, just back from a conference in Barcelona, brought in a big box of Spanish biscuits. Fun discoveries!

The weather forecast tomorrow is promising wind and rain. Irritating, but hopefully it'll all be well over by the weekend, since I'm flying out of Manchester on Saturday and I don't want the slightest risk of flights being called off due to bad weather. It should be.

Oh, and I now have light in my bathroom again. This was followed by a Mad Cleaning Scrubdown, as while I had been keeping it clean, there's clean and then there's clean, especially when your bathroom is white-on-beige and all the porcelain is white.

I'm an admitted sugar addict. I'd definitely try those Indian cakes. :)

And Lo, There Was Light Once More In The Bathroom Land, And Author Incandescens Saw There Was Much Cleaning Still To Be Had. Thus It Was Done, And Lo, The People Rejoiced. :D

They were lovely, but one couldn't eat much of them. :)

Diwali is either on Wednesday or Thursday, hence all the Indian sweetmeats and cakes available. Some are rather nice, especially the milk based ones and there are those that are cross between crisps and biscuits which are savoury. At least, I remember that from visiting Indian friends during the season.

That would explain why my coworker had such a large box and such a large assortment. They were very nice, but nobody could eat much of them.

Indian sweets really do hurt the fillings. Sometimes think they're best treated as mooncakes, divided into tiny portions amongst many people.

Fingers crossed for good flight weather on the weekend.

The coworker in question was actually cutting the little cakes into two before handing them out. We all agreed this was a good idea.
